"their naked descent"
Solo Throat
On her forthcoming album Solo Throat, UK multidisciplinary artist Elaine Mitchener utilises texts by a number of African-American and Caribbean poets and authors as the basis for a series of multitracked vocal performances. “their naked descent” takes lines from When In The Heat Of The Day by Martinican writer Aimé Césaire, first published in the 1948 collection Solar Throat Slashed, to create a slow-moving and sensual four part choral work.
