Primarily concerned with tenderness, fragility, beauty and brutality, US based folklorist, researcher and musician Derek Piotr centres his music on the human voice. He has collaborated across various disciplines with artists including Scott Solter, Nathan Salsburg and Thomas Brinkmann. In 2022 he launched the Fieldwork Archive, a collection of songs and folklore mainly focussing on untrained performers.
