Born out of a series of collaborations and explorations with dancers, artists and textile designers, Portugal based Frise Lumière evolved into the solo project of musician, composer and artist Ludovic Gerst. Confining himself to prepared bass guitar, he extracts melodies and rhythms rich with harmonics and percussive energy. Following his 2021 release Bisou Genou, his new album Ambo continues the minimalist exploration of his instrument.
