Jen Chochinov aka Schande has been active in DIY rock circles since the early 1990s – including the trio Shove – and more recently a member of The Thurston Moore Guitar Ensemble, and her debut album Once Around was released in September. Schande’s current sound was shaped by Chochinov’s experimentation with alternative guitar tunings, including those she learned from Moore himself, opening up a fresh approach to songs and songwriting.
