US author Jeff VanderMeer found Tulipomania’s 2023 album Dreaming Of Sleep inspirational while writing Absolution, the fourth book in his Southern Reach series. In response, the Philadelphia art pop duo reworked the album into new versions to complement the novel. “I’ve Been Told” is one of four additional tracks inspired by drafts of VanderMeer’s newest work, here remixed by Martyn Ware and Charles Stooke.
