US multidisciplinary artist Lyra Pramuk merges vocals with electronics to create her own form of polyphonic devotional music rooted in improvisation and experimental techniques. Drawing upon her classical training and Berlin’s club scene, and featuring strings from the city’s Sonar Quartett, her album Hymnal explores the ecstatic genesis of sacred rituals, the energy of which she also brings to her live shows.
