The London based producer, label boss, and one third of the Bristol's Livity Sound outfit states:

"Des Bisous was the first release on my own label, Pale Fire. I wrote it in January 2012 at a time when I'd become irrationally infatuated with an enigmatic French girl - the fraught strings and swollen and bruised bass line are an accurate replication of my mental state at the time. At one point she ignored me for a couple of days before sending a message that simply read 'des bisous', it took a further couple of days for me to realise this meant 'kisses' rather than 'fuck off'. I'm not very good at French."
