Despite releasing just a handful of tapes on Posh Isolation, alongside an album through Luke Younger’s Alter imprint, Kristian Emdal and Simon Formann’s Age Coin project has been steadily gathering momentum. The duo, once best known as members of Lower, have divided their time since that group’s demise developing Age Coin and a few individual projects: Emdal has worked with Copenhagen’s Marching Church, while as Yen Towers Formann released the dizzyingly slick club record T-1000 on Posh Isolation. “Performance” presents Age Coin in a cryptically lush aspect, its creeping ambience at once effortless and disorientating.
