DAY & TAXI were founded over 30 years ago as a quartet featuring the late saxophonist and composer Urs Blöchlinger. Since 1989 they’ve been led by Swiss saxophonist Christoph Gallio as a platform for his compositions. Their current line-up is completed by the rhythm section of Silvan Jeger (double bass, electric bass, vocals and sequencer) and Gerry Hemingway (drums). Taken from their tenth album DEVOTION, “DOOWOO” is dedicated to Corsin Fontana of Die Farnsburggruppe, an activist art group formed in 1967 which also featured Walter Wegmüller.
