Sheng Jie, also known as gogoj, is an artist and musician who currently lives and works in Beijing. She creates across several disciplines, including experimental music, sound, video, painting, film, installation, composition and audiovisual art performance. Her album Oviparity is a collection of amplified cello drones, alternatively patient and menacing. Active in the Beijing avant garde scene, she founded Shan studio in 2010, is the manager of Maybe Ensemble, and founded DOT audiovisual art laboratory in 2018.
