Having released seven albums of ambient piano music to date under her own name, Berlin based Japanese musician, composer and producer Midori Hirano uses her MimiCof alias to explore more experimental realms. While her 2017 album Moon Synch was recorded on a Buchla modular synthesizer at EMS Elektronmusikstudion, the detailed rhythmic patterns and melodic shapes of Distant Symphony were created on an EMS Synthi 100 at Radio Belgrade. Hirano has also composed music for dance performances, video installations and films.
