The Colombian electronic duo give us a taste of what to expect from their forthcoming second album

Colombian electronic duo Rizomagic juxtapose cumbian rhythms with deconstructed highlife, Ngoni scales and indigenous instruments. “We are trying to make music from a non-hegemonic structure”, states member Edgar Marún, speaking to The Wire's Russ Slater in issue 446. “We feel like telling a story from just one perspective can be weak, so we try to speak from, on one side, the West and, on the other side, traditional or, let’s say, nonhegemonic knowledge, and we find a balance point.”
“This song [“Chuantica”] is the first single of our second discographic production”, the duo continue, “and it's inspired by afrocolombian marimba music of the country's pacific coast.”
