Listen to an unreleased track by The Wire's May issue cover star
Boston based singer, songwriter and guitarist Marissa Nadler released her debut album Ballads Of Living And Dying in 2004. Her reputation for atmospheric, folk-inflected songcraft eventually brought her to the attention of producer and engineer Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Master Musicians Of Bukkake, Earth, Wolves In The Throne Room) who produced her 2014 album July.
The song "High On The Road" is included on a bonus cassette tape accompanying pre-orders of Nadler's new album Strangers. The tracks on the cassette are derived from pre-production home demos made during the songwriting process for the album.
Strangers and its accompanying cassette will be released by Sacred Bones in the US/Canada, and Bella Union in the UK/Europe on 20 May.
