Oakland based Black Spirituals percussionist Marshall Trammell and Southern Californian multi-instrumentalist Rob Magill have played numerous improvised shows together, including this performance at Oyes Theater in Ojai, California, opening for Peter Brötzmann’s quartet with Steve Noble, John Edwards and Jason Adasiewicz in May 2016.

The duo have just released their second album Transparent Actions as a follow-up to their collaborative debut Two Sounds Too. Now Magill's own label Weird Cry is about to release The Beat Up Lung, featuring this recording and two solo performances. The album will be available in CD and download formats.
