“Together in pandemic isolation we face things, including sound”, state the sleevenotes of UK improvising musicians Caroline Kraabel and John Edwards' new album, released by Cafe Oto's in house label Takuroku.
Featuring Kraabel on saxophone, and Edwards on double bass, Day Night was created during two home sessions – “gloves off” was recorded on 12 May at midday and “masks off” on 15 July at midnight.
Also from their base in South London, the pair recently took part in The Wire's Invisible Jukebox test, featured in issue 438. During the interview Kraabel and Edwards discuss music by The Spaceheads, Feminist Improvising Group, Charles Mingus, Akio Suzuki, and more. Read the conversation in full in The Wire 438 or via the digital archive.

I can't wait to hear this...I toured (playing drums) with Caroline and John in the mid-90's in Europe with X-Ray EYES ( not specs) . They are truly inspiring.
