Listen: Saint Abdullah's Where Do We Go, Now?

February 2020

Self-confessed compulsive field recordists Saint Abdullah continue their documentary style approach for latest full-length release Where Do We Go, Now?

“We record everything,” proclaim brothers Moh and Mehdi, speaking to Tristan Bath in The Wire 426. “Obsessively documenting. To find moments of truth.”

Saint Abdullah’s latest record Where Do We Go, Now? explores ideas about identity through noise, loops, free jazz and field recordings taken from their base in New York. The duo describe their aim for the album as trying to capture “the full weight of what it feels like to live in a country, and broader political context, that considers one’s identity as the root of all its problems”.

Where Do We Go, Now? is released by PTP 29 February. Saint Abdullah are featured in The Wire 426. Wire subscribers can access the full interview via the digital archive
