March 2016

Stream four tracks from the new album Textures by LA beat maker Elusive. Plus download a fifth track for free, courtesy of Alpha Pup Records

This is Aaron Koslow aka Elusive’s latest release on Alpha Pup. The Los Angeles based hiphop and electronic producer started making beats in the 1990s on analogue gear and the popular Akai MPC. His debut album Six Degrees Of Separation (featuring Living Legends) was released in 1998. That year also saw him record collaborations with Abstract Rude and Myka 9 from Freestyle Fellowship.

Elusive came to the Alpha Pup label following a spout of sets at LA's Low End Theory clubnight “In 2010 I contacted DJ Nobody about doing a set at Low End Theory,” he explains. “After the set, Daddy Kev [founder of Alpha Pup] let me know that I would be able to do more shows there in the future. A few years later I did another set and a couple of weeks later we talked about linking. If I could do an album that was sonically similar to the stuff I did at Low End Theory, Alpha Pup would release my music. So Alpha Pup is now a permanent home for my music."

As well as the four tracks available to stream here, Alpha Pup are also offering a free download of a fifth track called “Jungle Mirage” via soundcloud:
