Kaada/Patton have reformed. Stream the track “Imodium” from their new release Bacteria Cult

Norwegian composer John Kaada and Mike Patton have recorded a new album together as Kaada/Patton. Called Bacteria Cult, it marks the duo’s first colloboration since their Kaada/Patton Live DVD (2007), and debut album Romances (2004). “Working with John Kaada on this latest release was an honour and pure pleasure,” said Patton, about resuming work with Kaada. “His compositions have always resonated deeply with me and his orchestral arrangements for this project are harmonically dense and delicious! Each individual piece is so well constructed and inventively assembled that my vocal passages practically sang themselves. I’m hoping very much that we can seduce some eardrums and welcome listeners into this lush sonic ‘otherworld’.”

“Imodium” is the seventh track on Bacteria Cult, which is set to be released on 1 April by Ipecac Recordings. Composed and performed by John Kaada and Mike Patton, the album also features the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra.

Patton appeared on the cover of The Wire 254. Subscribers can read that article via our online archive.

I've heard some where that the figure sculptures of Giacometti resisted existing and having form. This is almost like a musical version of the same idea to me. Well, being so it opens much space for other senses, like visuals. Could definitely go in the direction of film music.

Maravilloso!!!!!

Patton is AMAZING with Kaada
