Australian composer Chris Cobilis teamed up with the NYC based poet and UbuWeb founder Kenneth Goldsmith and Chicago's Spektral Quartet to create This Is You, a concept album based on the pre-YouTube, user-generated video show Funniest Home Videos, going into darkly humorous discussions of media-based delusions of grandeur and cosmic narcissism along the way. Along with the album, Cobilis has provided an extra track especially for The Wire plus an alternate version of "Opening Sequence", both unavailable elsewhere.
Subscribers can read the interview with Chris Cobilis by Julian Cowley and a review of the album by Tristan Bath in The Wire 394.
