Listen to tracks from the trio's recent album, From The Region
Jason Adasiewicz’s Sun Rooms are Adasiewicz on vibraphone, Ingebrigt Håker Flaten on bass and Mike Reed on drums.
In his review of From The Region in The Wire 369, Bill Meyer writes: "[Adasiewicz’s] aggressiveness has made him the first and only mallet player that Peter Brötzmann has welcomed into his circle of preferred accompanists. But he's also exploited his instrument's essential characteristics in ways that have helped him rise to the top of Chicago's pool of new jazz musicians... Despite his confidence in negotiating freeform situations, Adasiewicz is a guy who loves a tune. His compositions on From The Region, the third by his trio Sun Rooms, may make space for meterless exploration, but they start from and return to springy grooves and melodies that could carry lyrics. The line to “Mr PB”, presumably named for Brötzmann, is dissonant, but the way he drops notes ahead of and behind drummer Mike Reed's lazy beat has more in common with Thelonious Monk playing off of Max Roach than anything on Machine Gun."

Little more drum and bass in the mix is only occasionally a crime
