"Circular Temple Number 1" and "Take The A Train" are live tracks performed by Shipp's current trio with Michael Bisio on bass and Whit Dickey on drums. "Gamma Ray" and "Patmos" are solo recordings. All tracks on Art Of The Improviser were recorded in 2009. The two CD album is out 22 February 2011 on Thirsty Ear.
