“It’s ambient music and serious electroacoustic work, but at the same time it’s super personal,” explains US artist Mari Maurice, speaking with Antonio Poscic for The Wire 452. Although intimacy is central to Maurice's output under her More Eaze alias, she is also a keen collaborator, recording with Nick Zanca under the name Asemix, with Orange Milk co-owner Seth Graham as ---__--___, and as part of the group Alexalone.
Maurice frequently collaborates with San Antonio sound artist and musician Claire Rousay, with whom she has recently released An Afternoon Whine EP, and who plays percussion on this exclusive track, “community”.
“When Claire and I work together, there’s this sense of there being no rules” says Maurice, “– it’s very lawless in terms of how we make the decisions to do whatever we’re doing for a collaboration. I feel that this attitude has carried over into a lot of my other work.”
