Born in Japan and now based in Paris, Tomoko Sauvage has been exploring the sonic properties of water for the past ten years. Her art revolves around china water bowls of different sizes installed with hydrophones, which amplify bubbles, waves and drops and create subaquatic feedback.
Musique Hydromantique is Sauvage's second solo album. Differing from the studio recordings of her first release Ombrophilia, this album features improvisations reacting to the acoustics of various environments. Each track was recorded in a different French location.
Musique Hydromantique is released on 26 October by Shelter Press
