Tape 1 – the first release by cassette collector, DJ and producer Samson AK – takes the form of a melting pot mixtape of fluctuating lo-fi beats productions, punctuated with storytelling samples.

In this illustrative accompanying mix, Samson AK traverses some of the industrial, noise and no wave sounds that influenced the make-up of Tape 1. Compiling “early 1980s and 90s weirdo cassette tape excerpts”, he includes music by Belgian experimental band Pseudo Code, Japanese one-man band Yximalloo, Brume collaborator Vrischika, and more.
