Running an independent music magazine is becoming increasingly difficult. We need your support
Publishing a truly independent music magazine like The Wire is an ongoing struggle. We are fighting harsh rises in print and distribution costs, as well as seismic changes across the music industry. And that fight is becoming tougher every month. In fact, it’s becoming an existential threat.
We’re proud of what we’re doing at The Wire. For more than 40 years, the magazine has remained a unique and much loved publication, 100 per cent independent and uncompromising. It’s a vital forum for musicians and artists who wouldn’t get exposure elsewhere. And it’s a much needed filter to help make sense of all the creative music that’s out there.
In October we will publish the 500th issue of the magazine. We think that is an achievement worth celebrating. But in order to surpass it we need your help.
With the support of discerning listeners and readers like you, The Wire will survive and thrive. We look forward to you joining us.
Thank you.

I value my print subscription.
An introduction to much that I simply would not be exposed to through other platforms.
Keep up the good work!

Ive sent several press release without a single answer, you dont cover event ecept friends of friends, nice journalist but terrible management.
I buy the magazine every month from WH Smith. At £6.50 an issue, that's more expensive than a subscription. Do you see a greater profit that way than if I do take out a subscription?

Sorry, but I lost interest in your magazine several years ago - I was finding it less and less relevant, and far from essential.

Yeah been reading 30 +years.Thank you for the great writing.Have a digital sub.
started reading the wire about 20 years ago and though i have had my fair share of disagreements with its writing styles, its opinions and politics i haven’t missed a single print issue since, were it only because it is still the only magazine that covers the kind of music i am interested in. i like to disagree so i am pretty certain i will continue to buy, hopefully in print.
