The Wire Salon returns to London’s Cafe Oto this month with the first of three events looking at the impact of AI on the processes of composing and making music. The first, In Latent Space: Mapping the Uncanny Valley, takes place on 22 April and features talks and presentations by musician patten and researcher Sam Salem. Both will then be in conversation with The Wire’s Emily Bick.

In advance of the Salon, for some background reading, we have made Abi Bliss’s 2024 essay on DIY musicians utilising machine learning free to read in our online library.
