Listen to The Wire's Q&A with the Buchla Music Easel player and the Morphine label head (aka Morphosis), recorded during Berlin's CTM festival
Charles Cohen is a Philadelphia-based improvisor who's been performing for over four decades in relative obscurity from European audiences, until Rabih Beaini released three LPs of his material, largely from dance and theatre productions rom the 70s and 80s, towards the end of last year. Rabih runs the Morphine label, and also records and performs as Morphosis.
This talk was recorded at CTM festival in Berlin earlier this year, where Cohen and Beaini talk about the nature of performance, improvisation and working with jazz musicians.
