BACK (3'56" VERSION)
The voice accompanying this slice of typically hard edged electronic funk from Cologne's Friedman (Flanger, Drome) is that of Theo Altenberg, a member of the notorious Otto Muhl Friedrichshof artists' commune of performance artists in Vienna in the 70s and 80s, a utopian collective founded on leftist politics and sexual hedonism.

purpose, explains Burtner, is to place "signal processing under
direct expressive control of the performer".

20 M BENTLEY PIANO SHIP
Michael Bentley, the founder of The Foundry label, has recorded under several names (including eM and, with Nathan Kreisberg, Rhomb).
