UK saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings unearths a performance by one of his past ensembles

London based jazz musician Shabaka Hutchings was born and raised in Barbados and Birmingham. Placing collaboration at the centre of his practice, the saxophonist is currently a member of several bands on the UK scene, including The Comet Is Coming, Sons Of Kemet and Shabaka & The Ancestors, who range in sound from space rock to hard bop.
Before forming Sons Of Kemet, Hutchings founded Shabaka & The Earth, featuring Stefano Kalonaris on guitar, Javier Carmona on drums and Liran Donin on bass. This performance by the short lived band took place at Charlie Wrights, London, in June 2010.
