Listen to an exclusive track from Josephine Foster's forthcoming album

December 2015

Listen to “A Thimbleful Of Milk” from the forthcoming album No More Lamps In The Morning by Josephine Foster

Josephine Foster's new album No More Lamps In The Morning finds the guitarist and vocalist revisiting a selection of tracks from various albums made throughout her career, including her most recent album I'm A Dreamer (Fire, 2013), The Coming Gladness (Bo'Weavil Recordings, 2008) and Born Heller (2004), credited to Foster and Jason Ajemian's collaborative project of the same name.

Recorded live to tape by Henry Hirsch and Patrick Higgins at Future-Past Studios, Hudson, New York during February 2014, the album features Foster on nylon string guitar, Victor Herrero on Portuguese guitar and Gyða Valtýsdóttir on cello. The album also features lyrics derived from poems by Rudyard Kipling and James Joyce on “Blue Roses” and “My Dove, My Beautiful One” respectively.

No More Lamps In The Morning is set to be released 5 February 2016 on Fire. Foster will take up a two-day residency at Cafe Oto in London, 25–26 February, 2016. She will be joined on the second day by Herrero.

if i offered my 6 month old twins, mabel buck and attie rosabel, a thimblefull of milk, they would pelt it at me or anyone in a mile's radius. It's not enough. It's not enough milk.
