Preview the debut vinyl release by Yeah You

August 2017

Father daughter noise duo have completed another collection of tracks written in their family car

After a string of live performances this year, including one at Supernormal 2017, Newcastle based group Yeah You are releasing their first vinyl record via Slip. The tracks on KRUTCH were recorded in a black Renault Clio in Holland and Germany, and at Aurora, Budapest throughout early 2017. The album features Elvin Brandhi on sprawling improvised vocals and Mykl Jaxn handling the synth programming.

“To you ‘Yeah You” are a Father daughter duo who let music invade the family context” say the band, “Who let music dismantle the family car, Creeping up behind a ‘don’t bite the hand that feeds you’ cultural climate, striving to unbuckle the gift economy. KRUTCH spins out from a series of drives back and forth through Holland in February 2017. Inside you find rival misfit fledglings sledgehammered together, writhing unified in search for their temple misplaced. They belong together because of their mutual disgust, each song contradicts, insults the other. Into the archive of spews Yeah You post-process assail their own aesthetic values by working ‘worst comes worst served’.”

KRUTCH is available to order from Slip on 15 September 2017. Yeah You will be supporting Object Collection at Cafe Oto on 22 September 2017.
