The Kaleidoscope compilation continues a longstanding relationship between the Dnipro based duo Gamardah Fungus and UK field recordist Kate Carr. Carr's Flaming Pines imprint has previously released three albums by the group, and it was interest in Ukraine's experimental electronic scene sparked by those releases which prompted this anthology.
While keeping the identity of Carr's label in mind, says Gamardah Fungus’s Igor Yalivec, the aim was to include a broad selection of artists showcasing the richness of the country's current happenings. “We tried to present here the widest possible range of musicians,” he continues, “from the most experienced professional Alla Zagaykevych, to the youngest performers like Motorpig.”
Kaleidoscope is released in digital and CD formats by Flaming Pines on 22 April.
