Listen to a live recording session of Venetian Snares and Daniel Lanois

April 2018

After several years of playing together, the two Canadian producers release their first duo album

Bringing together Winnipeg based experimental breakcore producer Aaron Funk aka Venetian Snares and Toronto based record producer and guitarist Daniel Lanois, this unlikely collaboration began in 2014. Lanois, who has worked with Brian Eno, Bob Dylan and Neil Young, among others, initiated contact with Funk, and within a few years the pair were regularly improvising with each other in Lanois's Toronto studio. The results can be heard on their forthcoming eight track album titled Mag11 P82, which will be released on 4 May by Funk's Timesig label and Planet Mu. This recording is an exclusive extended improvisation not included on the release. See below for the duo's upcoming tour dates:

Donaufestival, 29 April
Krems, AT
Le Trabendo, 1 May
Paris, FR
Funkhaus, 3 May
Berlin, DE
Village Underground, 4 May
