Hear the Spanish sound artist and producer's first full length record via Swedish label iDEAL
Born and raised on the North coast of Spain, Silvia Jiménez Alvarez eventually moved to The Netherlands and then Germany to pursue work in sound and production.
An early interest in field recordings and manipulation led her into scoring experimental film in 2011, and after some years of studio practice she started to DJ under her JASSS moniker in 2015, with a handful of 12" releases on labels Anunnaki Cartel and Mannequin following shortly after.
To mark the forthcoming release of her first album, Weightless, JASSS recently curated a night of leftfield electronics for Berghain's experimental room Saüle, to which she invited iDEAL founder Joachim Nordwall, Bill Kouligas, Vladimir Ivkovic, and others.
Weightless is released 18 September 2017 by iDEAL, with artwork by Pan Daijing. An exclusive collaborative track by JASSS and Pan Daijing can be found on The Wire's Below The Radar Special Edition: Berlin Atonal: Force Majeure
