The Wire

The world's greatest print and online music magazine. Independent since 1982

Watch an exclusive excerpt from Elisabeth Rasmussen's documentary on Bruno Wizard, co-founder of punk outfit The Rejects, and later, The Homosexuals.

The Heart Of Bruno Wizard is reviewed by Sukhdev Sandhu in The Wire 356: "Norwegian film maker Elisabeth Rasmussen’s feature-length debut is an intimate, even devoted portrait of The Homosexuals’ lead singer Bruno Wizard, whom she met while volunteering for the homeless charity Crisis. Born in Sunderland in 1950, he was – like Crass’s Penny Rimbaud – a little older than many of the musicians caught up in punk’s youthquake, and still beholden to 1968-ism with its links to radical psychiatry, global liberation movements and alternative spiritualities."

The Heart Of Bruno Wizard is currently screening at various film festivals, click here for more information. It will be shown as part of New York City's CBGB Festival on 10 October, including a Q&A with Rasmussen.
