The Mexico City based artists share an intimate performance of the lead track from their brand new EP
Estática is a four track EP by Guatemalan cellist and composer Mabe Fratti and multidisciplinary artist and musician Concepción Huerta, which explores the idea of feeling static and small in an overwhelming world. The Mexico City pair have collaborated many times previously as part of the capital's improvisation scene; in 2018 they self-released Internal Capacity – “an exploration between the sound of the strings, voice and the sound of the tape by means of loops of tapes”.
To accompany Estática, Fratti and Huerta have also created a sample library made up of sounds influenced by the soundscapes found on the EP, created with their own vocals and instrumentation.
In this video recorded by Arturo Mejía the musicians perform Estática's opening track in an intimate setting.
Both Estática and the sample library are available via SA Recordings and Spitfire Audio.
