Shot by Herbert Ponting in 1910–11, this newly restored film follows Captain Robert Scott's unsuccessful Antarctic expedition to the South Pole. With a new score by Simon Fisher Turner, The Great White Silence is featured in an article by Ken Hollings in The Wire 328. It is released by the BFI on DVD and Blu-ray in a Dual Format Edition on 20 June.
