Watch an exclusive excerpt of Matt Stokes's film installation...

The Stratford Gaff: A Serio-Comick-Bombastick-Operatick-Interlude uses performers from the Newham area of East London. The above is an excerpt of escapologist, magician and music-hall performer Larry Barnes's "Bedlam Jacket" routine (with musical support from Aven Romale). The three channel film has been combined into one stream, so to view it properly click the "full screen" button on the bottom right of the video.

The film installation can be seen at London's Stratford Underground station, until July 2011. It's one of a series of artworks commissioned by Art on the Underground for the Jubilee line. Click here for more information.

Stokes is the subject of an article by Nathan Budzinski in The Wire 321.
