One of the few British road movies made, the British Film Institute has recently reissued film maker and author Chris Petit's New Wave inflected debut Radio On onto DVD. Featuring music from David Bowie, Kraftwerk, Lene Lovich, Ian Dury, Robert Fripp, Wreckless Eric and Devo, along with an early appearance by Sting as an Eddie Cochran wannabe living in a caravan, the film follows the story of a London DJ (played by David Beames) as he drives to Bristol through the British roadscape of the 70s in order to resolve his brothers death.
