The Wire's Rob Young went to Knoxville, Tennessee, in March to host a series of talks and a panel discussion at Big Ears festival. His guests included: Emily Manzo and Alvin Curran talking about the life and works of Pauline Oliveros, Jace Clayton aka DJ Rupture presenting his new book Uproot followed by a discussion about the title, and Hans-Joachim Roedelius, who also read an excerpt of his new publication Das Buch.

Big Ears festival ran between 23–27 March 2017.
