The complete performance of Dumitrescu’s North/South Pole, filmed for Alexandru Badea’s documentary The Acousmatics Of Resistance
This performance of Iancu Dumitrescu’s piece North/South Pole by The Hyperion Ensemble took place in May 2015 at Bucharest’s Control Club. Film maker Alexandru Badea has been following Dumitrescu’s recent work for his forthcoming biographical documentary The Acousmatics Of Resistance, which examines the life and work of the spectralist pioneer through interviews, performances and previously unseen footage, as well as close access to the composer himself. The film is set to be premiered in Europe this year, and this exclusive video is a complete performance of the composition, extracts of which also feature in the documentary.
