Nashville based synthesizer composer shares a video from her new album
““Do My Thing” is my anti-capitalist anthem”, declares Tennessee synthesist Eve Maret, speaking about her latest track, taken from the forthcoming album Stars Aligned. “I was inspired to make this song after meeting up with my friend and fellow creative Rachel Lichtman to talk about collaborating on a video. We discussed how at various points in our careers, people in the industry tried to sell us 'our dreams', while simultaneously distorting our ideas. Now, we've both carved out our own spaces to manifest exactly what we believe in, affirming the notion that the desire for true expression is why we create.”
In an interview with Emily Bick in the current issue of The Wire, Maret further discusses the community driven electronic music scene in Nashville, as well as the collaborative and therapeutic aspects of her practice. Read the full article in The Wire 439, in print or online.
