Julian Cowley reviews Modern Feelings in The Wire 370: "Pekka Airaksinen, who plays piano in this Helsinki based quartet, was a member of the 1960s freakout jazz meets eccentric pop outfit The Sperm before transforming himself into a committed wanderer through the expanses of experimental psychedelia and meditative electronica. In Modern Feelings he is joined by catalytic guitarist Anton Nikkilä, electric bassist Ari Salonen and drummer Samuli Tanner, the latter two coming from a younger generation of boundary crossing post-rock Finns."
