Watch: Jandek live

February 2014

Watch a recording of Jandek rehearsing for a concert in Minneapolis in 2013. The elusive legend was interviewed face to face for the first time by David Keenan in The Wire 360 and 361. The footage was shot by Ashkan Soltani as part of forthcoming documentary I Know You Well.

Over three decades and 80 albums, Jandek has compiled a body of work unique in its emotional intensity and quixotic scope while maintaining a total media silence, until very recently.

Ashkan Soltani, who filmed the rehearsal, has been working on a documentary about Jandek, titled I Know You Well, over the past year. It's currently in post-production but you can watch a trailer here and go here for more information and progress updates.
