Listen: Amina Claudine Myers live

March 2021

Ahead of her 79th birthday concert, the jazz pianist, organist, vocalist and early AACM member shares recordings of past live performances

New York's Vision Festival lifetime achievement honoree Amina Claudine Myers will give a live solo piano and vocal performance on 21 March, hosted by Arts For Art. Here, the Arkansas born, New York based composer and musician compiles recordings from recent shows in a new playlist. The selection includes two pieces by ACM Trio performed at Vision Healing Soul in October 2020, featuring Amina Claudine Myers on piano, organ and vocals, Jerome Harris on bass, and Reggie Nicholson playing drums; an excerpt from a performance with bassist Henry Grimes from Vision Festival 2015; plus two solo pieces from a solo performance at David Gage String Instruments in New York City from January 2020.
