New music by Me Lost Me

June 2023

The Newcastle based musician premieres a track from her new video game inspired album RPG

“During lockdown I started playing a lot more [video] games and becoming more interested in them as an art form,” reveals Jayne Dent aka Me Lost Me in The Wire 473, explaining how her new album concept album RPG came about. “Each song is its own little role-playing game. In my head, at least! It doesn’t matter if that doesn’t translate.”

Dent takes elements from folk ballads, jazz and improvised music to translate video game narratives from world-building games into experimental song. This particular track “Until Morning” is inspired by moving through scenes in The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, whereas other tracks' lyrics reimagine real yet surreal life events within the game context – such as memory of a fight taking place on a fully mirrored nightclub staircase.
