Ahead of shows at MUTEK Barcelona 2020 and London’s Cafe Oto, the UK producer shares a brand new mix spanning kuduro, techno and tracks from her own projects
One of Hyperdub's newer members, London based electronic musician Loraine James offers the next addition to The Wire’s mix series. Still in her early twenties, she cites Aphex Twin, Lusine, Telefon Tel Aviv, Aoki Takamasa, Jlin and Holly Herndon as inspirations. She describes her most recent LP For You And I, released in September 2019, as “a selfish album in some ways, because I’m projecting my own feelings and about the place I grew up and my partner, etc”.
