As Toronto based imprint Marionette nears its 20th release, the electronic and electroacoustic label's founder takes the opportunity to reflect on the many sides and moods of past releases, while also announcing plans for six more across this year and next.

This mix, recorded by Ali Safi for The Wire, incorporates exclusives by Roxane Métayer, Delphine Dora and MinaeMinae into a set that hopes to pay homage to the explorative work of those on the label's roster. “The selections initially started off with some idea as to what I wanted to include,” says Safi, “but that morphed into exploring sounds which relate to or (in my mind) inform one another – it helps when you've listened to the music a thousand or so times..!”
