Listen: exclusive Sacred Tapes recording

February 2015

Listen to a live set from Yes Blythe, Swaggerjack, and John Powell-Jones at Salford's Islington Mill

Yes Blyth is Callum Higgins, venue manager of Salford's Islington Mill and head of cassette label Sacred Tapes. John Powell-Jones is a screenprinter and illustrator who also records for the label. Among other collaborations with those in and around the Salford and Manchester DIY scene, Higgins and Powell-Jones work together as Swaggerjack.

As part of Powell-Jones's recent exhibition of new illustration work, Abyss, at Islington Mill, the duo played a continuous set segueing their individual solo performances with a crossover passage as Swaggerjack in between. The track streaming is an edited version of that set.

Sacred Tapes is featured in a Bite in The Wire 373.
