Stonecircesampler, aka Luke J Murray, curates an exclusive compilation of edits, alternative mixes and unreleased music to conjure a hauntological landscape
London based Luke J Murray has worked under many aliases: 1-800-ICEMAN, 1012, Chino Balance & Ryun Ehlke, Coke Wizard & Chill Meres, Grimescapes, Roadman DSP. Most recently he has put out music as Stonecirclesampler and as one half of Iceman Junglist Kru.
Much of his output has been released as small cassette-only editions, with no digital availability, but for this Wire mix some of these tracks have been reworked to give them a life beyond the physical format. Others are forthcoming on various labels throughout 2025.
He explains: “Probably about 95 per cent of the tunes [I’ve] already released are not available on streaming or YouTube or even Bandcamp – just long-gone tapes and 12"s that, other than this mix, people wouldn’t ever hear!”
The mix is a hauntological blend of washed out ambient, dub and grime, threaded together with samples from horror films and TV.
